Sniff (Sniff, Nipsu) - is a character in the Moomin series of books by Finnish author Tove Jansson. Moomintroll's immature friend and later adopted brother. He is the son of the Muddler and the Fuzzy. He is one of the few characters who is sincerely interested in money, and is always on the lookout for another way to get rich quick. Sniff appears in the very first book, The Moomins and the Great Flood, and is also a first main character to disappear from the series, possibly due to the lack of potential for character development. The Exploits of Moominpappa is the last book that features Sniff.
